Terms of service
The agreement between you and us. Short, because the product is simple.
Version 0.1-draft · 2026-08-26 · back to the board
1. What we sell
Meltboard is an advertising service. You pay to place a listing on a public board where position is determined solely by remaining balance. You are buying placement and the traffic it produces. You are not buying a permanent listing, a guaranteed position, a number of clicks, or any search-engine benefit.
There is no element of chance. Prices are deterministic and quoted before payment, and no outcome is decided by a draw. This is not a game of chance and is not offered as one.
2. The balance melts
Your balance decreases continuously with time and with every click your listing receives. Time decay has a half-life of 48 hours. Below $0.25 the listing leaves the board.
This is the central term of the agreement, not a fee schedule. You must acknowledge it explicitly at checkout, and we record that you did. If you did not understand it, we would rather refund you than keep the money.
3. Payment
Payments run from $1.00 to $5000.00 in whole dollars and are processed by our merchant of record, who is the seller of record and handles applicable taxes. Money is credited to a listing when the payment settles, not when you are redirected back.
Refunds are governed by the refund policy, which forms part of these terms.
4. Listings
- Titles and descriptions are read from the target’s own page. You do not supply copy, and we do not edit what your page says.
- Anyone may list a qualifying target below the verification threshold. If a listing points at something you control, you can prove ownership and have it removed; its payer is refunded and does not transfer anything to you.
- Content must comply with the acceptable use policy. We may hide, archive, or remove any listing that does not, and we refund the remaining balance when we do.
- You confirm you have the right to have the target listed and that doing so doesn’t infringe anyone’s rights.
5. What we don’t promise
We do not promise a rank, an amount of traffic, uptime, or any commercial result. We count clicks by the method on the methodology page, including its stated limitations, and that method is what determines charges.
We may change the rules, the half-life, or the click price. Substantive changes are published with a version bump and a changelog entry before they take effect. We will not change them retroactively against balances you have already bought.
6. Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 90 days before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything on this page.
7. Ending it
You can stop at any time by not topping up; your listing melts off the board. We can remove a listing that breaks these terms, and will refund whatever balance is left.
8. Contact
The operating entity, its address, and a contact email go here before launch. A service that takes money must say who is taking it.
